
About MMS Strategies
Michelle Smira has spent nearly a decade helping others succeed in the political arena—as a Legislative Aide in the California Legislature, Campaign Consultant, senior advisor to a United States Congressman, and a Media Relations Specialist.
In 2005, Michelle formed MMS Strategies, specializing in government affairs, media relations and coalition building. Her career has taken her to positions on both coasts, and everywhere in between. As a legislative professional, she served as Legislative Aide to the Assembly Republican Caucus, and District Director to United States Congressman Doug Ose. Her political experience includes fundraising for Members of Congress and the Minority Leader of the state Assembly. Additionally, she served as a consultant for a San Diego Assembly race and in other capacities for John McCain’s bid for President, and the successful Congressional campaigns of Doug Ose of California and JD Hayworth of Arizona. Michelle most recently served as the spokesperson and public information officer for the City of Elk Grove, California - the fastest growing City in the nation.
Active in the Point West Rotary, Michelle is also President of the Sacramento Valley Lincoln Club, Chair of Metro PAC, on the Board of Directors for the Sacramento Metro Chamber of Commerce and the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC). She is also a member of the North State Building Industry Association and the Sacramento Urban Land Institute. An alumna of Arizona State University, Michelle currently resides in historic downtown Sacramento.
Lindsey Simoncic joined MMS Strategies in the summer of 2008. As Project Manager she manages clients daily needs, provides media support and new media outreach for all the firm's clients. Lindsey also conducts research regarding statewide practices in municipal and county government; land use research related to pending and current legislation; regional transportation practices; in addition to other public policy issues.
Originally from San Diego, Lindsey came to Sacramento to pursue a career in Governmental Affairs and is currently working towards earning a Master’s Degree in Government from Sacramento State University. Her emphasis includes California State and Local Politics and International Relations.
Lindsey is a member of the Western Political Science Association, Sacramento Metro Chamber of Commerce and the North State Building Industry Association. Lindsey holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Sonoma State University where she graduated cum laude, with distinction. As an undergraduate Lindsey was active in student government and a member of Gamma Phi Beta International Sorority.
